The nonexempt of Byron's The Vision of Judgment is partly piece of writing and in part political, but its spring was Byron's detestation of Cant and dissembling.

On the demise of King George III, old, mad, and blind, in 1820, the Poet Laureate Robert Southey create a praising poem. Written in unrhymed hexameter, its attempts at righteousness achieved no more than a old-hat pomposity. But far worse was its humbug and unctuous tone. Entitled "The Vision of Judgment" it showed George III's finish entry into the computer scientist of eden and the damnation of his enemies. To Byron, the brazen flattery of a King, who was at most favourable poor and at most unpleasant tyrannical, was exceptionally unpalatable.

Byron was above all indignant because he saw Southey as a disloyal - one who had at one time espoused the large-minded cause, but had later denaturised his colours to taking up the edict Tory delegation. Further Southey had publically attacked Byron's literary genre as happiness to the "Satanic School" whose phenomenon was to weaken theology and to praetorian need. Southey was liable too, as Byron believed, for wide correct shameful rumours roughly speaking Byron's enthusiasm in Switzerland. (Byron indeed had fervent affairs near roughly speaking 60 to cardinal women). Byron here took return by assailing both Southey and his "Vision" with overgenerous jeering.
